Medium Term Expenditure Framework
The Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), consistent with the overall medium term- macro economic framework of Sri Lanka is generated from the government budget. It is a rolling plan of 3-5 years.

The Overall policy in the area of Production & Services is to ensure a sustained growth through higher productivity and its improvements while preserving the environment and managing Sri Lanka’s natural resources, harnessing potential employment opportunities. The vision of the MTF in this area is to create balanced economic development through enhanced activities in agriculture, industry and services sectors.
